Montgomery's Artisan Butchers

PROVENANCE . QUALITY . INNOVATION

Discover the mantra and the history behind the Montgomery brand

Provenance

A close relationship with all of our suppliers is key to our offering.

Locally sourced beef and lamb is born and reared at Hazelhurst Brother's Farm in Gee Cross, Hyde. Their Limousin beef yields a fantastic balance of meat and marbling, creating succulent and tasty cuts. Their Texel lamb is exceptional; always succulent and flavoursome.

Our stunning Cheshire white pork and poultry come from Lancashire, Cumbria and Yorkshire. We always endeavour to buy locally to guarantee our provenance.

Quality

Montgomery's only use the finest cuts to ensure your meat is the best it can be. The quality of our meat and meat products is inextricably linked to provenance, as quality starts with exceptional animal husbandry, the best feed available, careful monitoring of livestock and the highest of welfare standards.

Once the farmers have played their part we are able to age the meat until we are confident it will be both tender and tasty.

Innovation

Modern day butchery isn't exclusive to meat. At Montgomery's, we work closely with some of the best ingredient suppliers available, sourcing ingredients, marinades, sauces and rubs.

When paired with the same quality of locally sourced meat, we create innovative meal solutions that are convenient and tasty. See our Gourmet and Deli sections for our endless and ever-changing choice of delicious meals.

FROM NORMANDY TO THE NORTH WEST
The Montgomery name dates back to 11th Century Normandy; it's symbolism can be seen in our brandmark.

Two medieval lions flank a Normandic shield, containing our monogram and crossed cleavers. Sitting atop is a Union Jack crown containing the three wheatsheaves of the Cheshire Coat of Arms, symbolising the continual presence of a butcher's trade at our shop in Bramhall since 1908. Lastly, a heraldic banner contains our mantra.
